About
With two decades of experience across industries and countries, Joy Khoo helps leaders step into their authentic selves, fostering greater flow and impactful results. She partners with clients to deepen self-awareness and self-acceptance while sustainably improving their well-being at work—ultimately driving stronger business outcomes. Her coaching focuses on topics such as burnout, imposter syndrome, stress management, executive presence, difficult conversations, conflict resolution, resilience, boundaries, and self-compassion.
Joy’s client portfolio includes organizations such as the U.S. Department of State, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Stanford University, Mercedes-Benz, Microsoft, Google, Slack, San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank, San Francisco Zen Center, International Women’s Forum, and American Express.
Drawing from a whole-person approach, Joy integrates mindfulness, neuroscience, art, nature, and embodied practices into her coaching. She is known for her thoughtful and creative style, helping leaders cultivate presence, authenticity, clarity, resilience, and connection. Clients appreciate her ability to address core challenges while creating a psychologically safe space for growth.
Joy is also the author of Nature’s Guide for Leaders, which invites executives and emerging leaders to reimagine leadership through nature’s wisdom.
Early in her career, Joy was honored by Secretary Colin Powell as the Community Liaison Officer of the Year (2003) for her exceptional leadership in managing two evacuations at the U.S. Embassy in Indonesia. In this role, she provided daily coaching for 350 embassy employees and family members navigating complex work and life transitions. She also co-facilitated an evacuation workshop for 30 U.S. Ambassadors, coaching them on leading effectively in times of crisis. Additionally, she supported five Middle Eastern embassy communities evacuated during the Iraq war.
Currently, as an executive coach and facilitator at Chief, Joy supports a private network of C-suite women leaders. In addition, she has had the opportunity to conduct speaking engagements for organizations, including the World Economic Forum, Khazanah Nasional, Airbnb and Bay Area startups, regarding stress management and resilience at work.
